Delphine Bouilly
Head researcher
I am delighted to lead this interdisciplinary research laboratory, where we explore the fascinating interfaces between nanomaterials and biological molecules. My team is made up of curious and passionate individuals whom you can meet below. In addition to the lab, I teach courses on physics, nanotechnology, and biosensors, lead or contribute to several scientific networks, develop educational resources, and am the mother of two young children!

Claudia M Bazan
Research Advisor
I completed a PhD in chemistry-physics in 2013 at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Université de Montréal under the supervision of Carlos Silva and Delphine Bouilly. As a Research Advisor in the lab, I am involved in all projects, as well as being responsible for managing the lab and training equipment users. I also coordinate external collaborative projects.

Students :

Madline Sauvage
Ph.D. candidate in Molecular Biology
In 2014, I arrived in Montreal and completed a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at the Université de Montréal. I went on to do a Master's in the laboratories of Sylvie Mader and Delphine Bouilly, and a year later I fast-tracked to a PhD to continue my research project. Fascinated by this project, I decided to take it out of the laboratory and create a start-up to transform this innovation into a concrete solution for breast cancer patients.

Jade Cimmino
Ph.D. candidate in Molecular Biology
After completing a bachelor's degree in biology with a specialization in molecular biology at the Université de Montréal, I pursued a master's degree in Delphine Bouilly's laboratory. A year later, motivated by my project, I fast-tracked my PhD, where I explore the intersection between biology, physics and engineering to develop innovative biosensors.

Eve Petit
Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering
I began my training with a bachelor's degree in materials engineering at INSA Lyon (an engineering school in France). Since I wanted to apply the field of materials to healthcare, I chose to do a master's degree in research in biotechnology engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke (director: Marc-Antoine Lauzon). To build on this success, I'm now doing a PhD in biomedical engineering at IRIC, Université de Montréal, co-directed by Delphine Bouilly and David Knapp.

Jeanine Looman
Master's student in Biomedical Engineering
I moved to Montreal in 2018 to study biological engineering at McGill. I then went on to do a master's in biomedical engineering in Delphine Bouilly's lab, where my research project combines my favorite subjects: engineering, programming and data analysis.

Jean-Nicholas Deraspe
Master's student in Physics
I originally studied music (a long time ago!), then finally decided to go back to school to do a bachelor's degree in physics and now a master's degree.

Paul Vézina
Master's student in Physics
After completing a bachelor's degree in cooperative physics at the Université de Sherbrooke, I moved to Montreal and began my master's in Delphine Bouilly's laboratory. I am co-supervised by the researcher Carlos Silva and my research focuses on ultrafast spectroscopic analysis of GFETs.

Arnaud Lessard
Master's student in Physics
Joaneve Milette
Coordinator of the Advanced Materials Academy
